Head and neck cancers are a complicated and diverse group of cancers that require the involvement of a variety of specialties and professions in their treatment. The Head and Neck Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) combines medical and allied health professionals (including surgeons, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, speech pathologists, dentists, dieticians and nurses) to create a treatment plan that is tailored to individual patients. The Centre also utilises new surgical techniques, improved radiotherapy and advanced high-resolution fusion imaging and immunotherapy to improve patient outcomes .
- Head and Neck MDT sees 600 patients/year
- Skull base MDT sees 120 patients/year.
