About QHNCC
The Queensland Head and Neck Cancer Centre (QHNCC) established in 2012 at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is the vision of the PAH Head and Neck Service. This concept aimed to better understand, prevent, diagnose and treat head and neck cancer in Australia.
Head and neck cancers are increasing in incidence in Australia and treatment is complex. A dynamic group of Queensland scientists and clinicians with the shared common knowledge surrounding the challenges of head and neck cancers collaborated to realise the need for the Centre.
Vision
Internationally recognised as a multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence for Head and Neck Cancer Research and Treatment.
Mission
Reduce the impact of Head and Neck Cancer on the community through scientific discoveries and their translation into better clinical outcomes.
Our Purpose
The QHNCC seeks to deliver novel diagnostic and treatment modalities and provide advanced education programs for head and neck cancer. In addition, the QHNCC will train a range of health care workers from Queensland.
